- I work on Microsoft Word files only and use the Track Changes feature for editing and the Comments feature for suggestions, questions, or to explain my changes so you'll understand why they're needed. No changes are made to the manuscript without your approval. This is your story, so you'll have the final say on every decision.
- I edit books in both American and British English, and I've also worked with Australian and Canadian authors.
- I use The Chicago Manual of Style—which has been the book publishing industry standard since 1906. For American spellings, I use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. For British spellings, I use the Cambridge Dictionary.
- I advise authors to consider booking both the editing and proofreading services (Package 3). After the author has approved the changes made during the editing process, the manuscript should be proofread to make sure that there are no typographical errors, nor missing or extra words left.
- Before editing begins, a signed contract is required.
- Date ranges are flexible as I realize writing a story cannot be forced.
- While last-minute projects will always be considered, I advise you to contact me in advance to reserve a date.
